“My problem is that you said you would pick me up,… but when someone says they’re going to do something they should do it or at least let the other person know it isn’t happening….” Gosh Bronwyn, hit me in the feels would you? Damn D. why you gotta have me going “oh shit, that’s my mentality” in the middle of a book? But at the same time, bravo. That was perfectly said.

“My eyes close as sleep sucks me in. Except this time I do it knowing I have my monster at my back, ready to slay any demons that may come my way.” Ok, I wasn’t convinced that you were convinced to read this book so I added one more quote. Now if that didn’t convince you… well then…. I think we awkwardly need to look at each other and just nod.

Bronwyn is such a character but that has to be a thing otherwise she would not make it in a relationship with Gio. All I am going to say about how they met was that it is a big “wrong place at the wrong time” situation. Then she’s like “I have seen all that I needed to see and now I am going to leave.” But then she leaves and runs into the man outside. Like uh, sir, she is trying to leave. She doesn’t need you to keep her on high alert. Let the lady go!!

Well that’s the issue. Gio in fact fell in love instantly. You cannot tell me differently. I am dead set that that is what happened. So when he is sent to give her hush money and he also finds out that she has a crappy father, yea that man locked in even more. He was all about making sure she was safe and not letting her fathers issues bleed into her life. But that’s how this relationship goes. Bronwyn’s dad only sees her as an ATM. He doesn’t care unless she can help him in some way. Shoot Bronwyn had an online friend that was telling her the same thing. But lets be real, we are ladies and we will only listen to one person when they tell us to cut family off. We just gotta find that person first.

So when her dad takes it upon himself to continue to make her life worse, it gets to a point that she doesn’t see coming. But Bronwyn learns that she has a family she can count on. They may not be blood but they are stronger than any blood ties will ever be in her life. She relies on Gio and his family when she needs them most.

That is sadly as far as we can go with out retelling. Especially since this is an ARC and now available for everyone to read!!! So go check it out!!

Y’all I have been fighting for my life to catch up on ARC’s. So when I picked up this ARC and literally flew through the first 80% of the book, I knew I would be ok! I was absolutely obsessed with how easy this read was. D. Vessa is just that author for me. Anytime I pick up one of her books, I end up flying through a massive chunk of the book and then piddle around with the last half because I don’t want to be finished with the book just yet. It’s like a sad moment to realize the first time reading this book is about to be over and I just don’t want that. D. Vessa can have my attention always!!

10/10 I highly recommend. Now excuse me while I go pout in the corner that this book is finished.
