I continue to be hooked on this series and I do not want to let go anytime soon. Ever since “God of” series, I have been on this train, ready to see where we head to next. I believe since book two I have been hoping for a book on Vaughn and it was delivered! Was this how I thought it was gonna go? Absolutely not. But was I pleasantly surprised? Absolutely yes!! I will definitely be listening to this when I need a comfort read. 

As always, check the trigger warnings before you jump into this book. There are a lot of topics covered and some may not be ones you want to hear. There is a lot of abuse from a parent in this book to just name one of the types of triggers. Don’t take the trigger warning lightly. 

Yulian and Vaughn are part of the same world. They both are the next in line to their father’s empires. They will be in charge of the Bratva when it is their time to shine. But how they are prepared for this position, couldn’t be anymore opposite. Vaughn grew up in a loving household where his father did put him in a lot of training but he also did it to better Vaughn for the future. Yulian, well he was brought up in an abusive household where he was beat to learn how to run the Bratva. He also had his sister and mother held over his head if he tried to push back. So after a while, Yulian just took the beatings and sometimes egged it on as well. Not the smartest choice but hey, he’s gonna do what he wants to do. That’s completely fine with us! 

Vaughn and Yulian meet at a camp where they were sent to continue to learn how to handle everything in the Bratva. What they didn’t expect was to go out on a hike and be attacked. Someone was aiming for Vaughn but Yulian stepped in the way to take the bullet instead. Now wounded, both boys needed to find shelter and fast. Ya see, Yulian and his free spirit ways, he has already scoped out the woods and knew there was a cave up ahead that they could hide in. That is exactly what happened. But once they were rescued, that’s where the animosity grew. Both boys were told different things on how everything unfolded. That drove a wedge between them even further. To which also rippled into the two Bratvas as well. 

With one last attempt, Yulian decides he’s going to try and destroy Vaughn’s life any way possible. Remember Yulian is unhinged. We love unhinged MMC’s. So when he tries one last time, he’s going to make it memorable. But how does this turn into a relationship? How do they even get along? What will happen with the Bratva? 

That is where you are going to have to read or listen to find out! Y’all the audio is once again the way to go. I highly recommend trying audio with this one. It wasn’t as dramatic as past audios but it was still really fun to listen to!! 

Author Rina Kent will continue to have me hooked on this series and I am so ready to continue devouring it whenever a new release happens. I know she has other series too, trust me, I’m stuck on those too. But this series is bringing the characters I have been wondering about, into light and giving us their back stories. I’m loving that all of the side characters from “God Of” series are getting their turns. I loved them during that series and wanted more. Now we are getting that!! Exactly what I was hoping for!!
