“Until this point, I’ve seen her feigned inference and her anger, but to see this tiny glimpse of the pain I caused… I truly fucking hate myself.” Just one of the quotes that hit ya right in the feels. Don’t let this quote make you run away from Coronation, let it bring the “what did he do?!?!” feels and pick it up faster!! You need to see the turmoil that both characters go through.
I’ve never had this happen before but I think we need to skip the first portion of the book and the last portion of the book. Like if I tell you any of those details, it will give away a big amount of information that you need to stumble upon on your own. So with that, I will just say, our FMC is named Zelda and she is an America Actress that is across the pond for work. She meets the MMC, Ben, the King of Stelland. Ok now skip how they met and lets get to the middle of the book.
Ben knows he can’t be with Zelda because she is not a native to Stelland. Stelland has a law in place saying as much. So he decides to fight his feelings for her. Zelda felt like she read it loud and clear on what Ben thought about her with how he left. So for Zelda, she decided to lift her head up and do everything she could to continue on with life. She needed to keep her head in work.
Sadly for both, their work life would cross paths multiple times in the next few weeks. To which, yay but at the same time, it doesn’t help when you’re trying to avoid those feelings. But after a few times of avoidance it becomes clear that Ben cannot keep his eyes off Zelda. That happens to land them in hot water…
So how will they overcome these moments? How will they navigate the hurdles put in their path? What will transpire between a King and Actress?
Author Cleo White continues to deliver the delicious age gap trope and I am so excited to be here for this one. I will say, You’re It still sits in first place for me but Ben, he definitely gets top 5 for Cleo’s men. This book is definitely a bigger book compared so what Cleo has written in the past but we need every word and page in this book. It was so delicious and beautifully written. Also it was completely a fun take on how the main characters met. I wasn’t thinking that was how they would but I am so stinking glad that it was. How unique but fun for the MC’s.
This was definitely a nice RomCom type read and while I love my dark romance, I always love reading anything by Cleo White. She knows how to bring the cutesy reads to this dark romance addict. Darling, you can always be my fix.
