New kink unlocked. I have heard others call each other this name and it was cute. That’s all but the moment I heard this, I went running to the chat and told a friend. To which, this woman goes “you need to hear Rio say it.” As in Rio from “Good Girls.” Yep, thank you for helping me confirm that I have a thing for hearing someone say “mama.” Now let me also say, you have to say “mah-muh” otherwise its too much like kids calling a mothers name. (Take notes men) So I started this book and ended with a new, very specific kink of hearing “mama.” Not what I thought was going to happen. 

Now that I got that off my chest, let’s actually talk about this book. Ok my heart plummeted when you hear the FMC say she just wanted someone to love her. She felt like no one wanted her and finally she felt like someone did, only to find out she was part of a plan. That broke my heart for this woman. When she was a kid she found out she was the other family to her father. As in, her father had his wife and kids and then his side piece was her mom and she was the outcome of this. This poor woman found this out AT THE DANG FUNERAL FOR HER FATHER!!!!!!!!!!! Yea, cause when the pastor goes “he is survived by his wife and kids.” Then they give their names and hers wasn’t called…. Yea, hello heart break. Let’s not also forget that her mother just didn’t give a flying care in the world (yes, I stopped my cursing) about her and just barely did her motherly duties. 

You think that’s bad? Yea then she has half siblings that finally showed up when she was about to be 18. That is when she found out her father left some money for her but made it so only the FMC could get her hands on it. Ya wanna know what her mother did? Guess, you wont get it right. Let’s just say her mother made her spend her money in a way that she shouldn’t have had to do. Then to put the dang icing on this marvelous cake, no one was there for her during the worst time of her life. She freaking did it all on her own. 

So we fast forward to the fact she found a man and thinks he’s around because he fell for her instantly, then to find out it was all a lie, yea you can see where her mind went. She literally went into shut down mode because she spent so much time putting an effort into this relationship. To then only find out that, wow, he didn’t actually like me and fall for me naturally. I was his mark. I was part of his plan. I think I’m more impressed she stayed a level headed woman. I don’t get how she didn’t wreck him or try to destroy his stuff. Ya know, go a little crazy. Nope, she stayed poised and respectable. 

Alright this is where I am leaving off. You need to go feel the frustration that I felt but I promise it is also an amazing read. I was actually enjoying the entire thing even though he ticked me off. I promise you will be able to get past his stupidity and will be able to 

Author S.J. Tilly has me hooked in this series. This is book 3 and I do recommend that you read this in order. Its more so you can get an understanding for the characters and their dynamic. It kinda helps you track along better. Tilly also did a good job giving the smallest amount of information on the next books MMC. We get a simple glimpse twice in this book but I like that he is left to be very mysterious. It makes it so I am antsy to get moving on this read!!
