“If you had any kinds in you… if you ever cared for me as more than just a plaything you can train to orgasm on command… you would let me go. You’d let me be who I need to be and do what I need to do.”

“You won’t let me in, You won’t make space in your life for us because you’re afraid if you love someone, you’ll lose them like you did your family. You think it’ll be easier if you just don’t allow yourself to have things. So you condemn yourself to being alone.”

The quotes that just hit so beautifully in this book. Lately it has become my favorite thing to sit down and just let the book speak to me. Let the quotes just pop out and quick screenshot them to write them down later. I was absolutely obsessed with the quotes coming out of this book. So here are just the few that I really absolutely need to share with you all!

This book is book 2 of a duet and I recommend you start with His Perfect Darkness. Now I did not start with the first book in this duet. I genuinely forgot that this was said to be a book two. So apparently my brain said skip that info when signing up for this ARC but let me say, I feel like I didn’t miss much. As in, I wasn’t confused by what was going on. I would have understood the characters more if I read the first book but at the same time, I felt comfortable with the information I was given.

So in book one, we get the feel for how Rex and Inara found each other. We understand their duo and really get a feel for their relationship. Well that is at least what I am gathering from reading book two. They have a dom/sub relationship and you can tell they worked through so much during book one to get to where they were in book two.

This book we are watching as their dom/sub dynamic is changing because of life events. Inara is dealing with a stalker/murder while also trying to work her job as a cop. This is the killer that came after her family and has decided he needs to come back for Inara. Rex is a dom, he wants to protect her at all costs. But his protection can get a little too confining for Inara. So they have to push each other and learn how to change their dynamic to fit their new circumstances.

It doesn’t take long for Inara to see the killer is getting closer. He slowly starts pulling different connections to get people closest to Inara to help him with his plans. The killer is on a mission and he is going to succeed in what he wants. This is where Inara needs to start relying on Rex and stop her attempts at pushing him away. Its for her own safety even though she felt like he was trying to cage her. She soon realizes that he is trying to set her free but keep her safe at the same time.

This is where we leave off fam. I hate to say it but we have to. This one had a few different plot twist happening and you need to experience them on your own. I cannot give away all of those details!

Author Lee Savino is back with another dark romance and I have to say, I absolutely ate this one up. I am honored to say this is my first book with Lee Savino but it won’t be the last one. Honestly, I will need to go back and read His Perfect Darkness so I can get the entire feel for this couple. This book had my attention from the start and if life didn’t get in the way, I would have finished this book in one day. But alas, we have to be responsible adults and not just read all day everyday. How rude!

If you are looking for a stalker, dark, dom/sub, touch her and goodbye, strong FMC, strong MMC and just a flowing storyline, then check this book out!!! Maybe read His Perfect Darkness first so we know the full dynamic but this was a delicious read!!!
