I know very well that this book is a horror book. I definitely get that we should feel suspense and like “what’s going to happen?!?!” But this quote is what had me busting up. I know, time and place and all but it was funny. Like “huh, how did that happen?!” At least that is how I read it in my head. 

This book, we sadly can’t get too into it as it is only 78 pages long. A nice little horror novella! But I will say this was probably the funniest moment while the rest of the book was horror filled. I personally don’t find this to be a scary series so far but I will say I like the “ooo whats going to happen next” feel that comes through all of these books. This may only be book 4 of the series but I look forward to seeing where K.T. Maddans mind goes to next.

I will say we meet Emery, the FMC of this book right away. She is an author that has a deadline quickly approaching for her next book. The problem is that she is experiencing writers block and can’t seem to get past it. So she has decided to try going to a cabin. Maybe if we get some seclusion that will help the problem? A change of pace? But what will Emery really find when she gets out of the city? Will she get past her challenges and finish the book?

The series that K.T. Maddan writes to just change up her pace and let the words flow, has slowly become one of my favorite series. It’s so entertaining to see what she will come up with next. So when she came out with Devour, I was absolutely obsessed and excited to see where we were going to go with this one. I was not disappointed at all!! This may be a short read but it definitely is a delicious read. Check the trigger warnings before reading but have a wonderful read!!!
