Ellis my main man, what in the world are you doing?!?! I mean that with nothing but tender love and wide eyes of a friend saying “get it together.” You know the typical response friends give to each other. This entire book I kept having those funny movie moments where friends have silent fights. Where they just give each other random signals and are like “what the heck are you doing?!?” That was me during this book. I was busy working on cleaning up in my house and my hands just kept going out like “look my dude!!!” Or a simple “why in the world man?” But then you melt because the audio narrators voice is very soothing and nice. Such mixed emotions!!! 

So let’s get started with, I made a big mistake and didn’t write this blog when I finished the audio. With that, I am not going to lie, some of this is not so fresh in the mind. So this blog and recap will be interesting as I am like 15 books deep from when I listened to this one. I like to literally finish the book and right away go blog so I can have a fresh perspective and response. I hope you enjoy the freshness that comes from reading the book as I personally know I can be ridiculous in some retellings. It’s just my brain, y’all really get an unhinged thought process. Ok, self, let’s stop yapping on myself and get to the book! That’s why the peeps are here! 

Ok, so we start this book with Jo who has been really trying to figure out what she wants to do in life. She is about to start her Senior year of college but is slowly feeling like this may not be the right path for her. She was guided in this direction by her mother so she doesn’t want to disappoint but she truly isn’t happy. Jo has other dreams in mind and those are ones that bring her joy and peace. Currently her choice of college is giving her anxiety. She can see that the struggle is getting worse and she would like to not go full panic mode. I don’t blame the girl. 

Ellis has one night of freedom. He is a single father and knows he needs to make an appearance at a work party otherwise he may have issues with his job. What he didn’t expect was to have a one night stand during this time. But that is exactly what happens. Little does he know that his world is about to turn upside down. 

What happens when your one night stand ends up being your nanny while you live abroad for a few months? Maybe I should ask, what happens when you realize this wasn’t just a one night kind of person? You go to a different country. She watches your autistic child and actually develops a strong bond with your child. But your baby momma and ex decide she needs to pop in whenever is convenient for her. Throw in that this could also cost you your job and her future. What do you do? 

I think you can figure out just what Ellis does. I mean, this is a book and I only told you about the first 20% of it…… Yea, its time for you to go read Second Edition. Don’t let me spoil anything for you! 

Author Cleo White… ma’am. Let’s have a chit chat. Where did Ellis come from? Where did this story come from? Some how every book I read, I become infatuated with the MMC’s. But the audio narrator for this book!!!!! I was pleasantly surprised. I have had this idea in my head that I wanted to wait for summer to listen to this book. I was thinking gardening, hammock time and this audio. Sadly I didn’t have a patient bone in my body and listened ahead of time. Well I hope you can guess where I will be when I listen to this book again! It will be in the garden. Night time in the hammock relaxing and just downright enjoying the entirety of this book! I am so ready to read the next book! I am working on You’re It but after that we will see where we go from there!! Age of Shade or In Pieces are two that I know I haven’t read just yet!
