We fell and we fell hard for this book. While it’s not a fell in love at first sight so to speak because the MMC knew the FMC for years, it feels like it was a love at first sight because this romance started from page one. So love on first page! Yep, claiming it. That is what we will say. Love on first page had me so excited to sit down and buckle in for this fun ride! 

What I wasn’t expecting though was such a strong FMC in Leni. Ok hear me out. She always gave off that vibe but part of me has been wondering if she gave that vibe off because she was protecting herself. You know the girl thats tough to everyone she doesn’t know but to her circle of people she’s a complete teddy bear? That’s kinda where I thought we were going to go with this. Y’all hold up, this woman is straight up tough. She doesn’t let that personality down for anyone. It just also happens to be that she also has a soft spot for the MMC, Holden. Let me be clear though, he is the only person that will be seeing those soft vibes and sweet side. 

Holden, Holden, Holden, Holden… My man. A reformed playboy turns golden retriever. Oh did I forget to add, he is also entering into his daddy era. This man may have entertained himself with many random ladies in the past but now he is solely focused on Leni. When they see each other for the first time in a while at a bar, he is hooked and doesn’t have eyes for anyone else. So while he may not have intended for this to happen, the reformed playboy days started as he couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. Did I also say they didn’t do anything other than chat? Yea, buddy got the feeling and bad for this girl. 

It’s crazy to think but the worst thing to happen in Leni’s life ended up bringing her to the best thing in her life. Now I fully get where we see the glimpse in the previous book, Kissed and Missed, where Leni is struggling a bad. I mean she literally felt like dance was going to be her life and career. She was going to be in ballet and the lead. What, at least this is my thinking, no one thinks about with that career is ever being injured to the point of not being able to dance anymore. Sadly this was her fate and it definitely took a toll on her. She kept everyone at a distance and truly didn’t want to be around family or friends. Well I mean can we blame her when her friends are from dance and her entire family is off in love with their partners. So no offense to them but I would be in her shoes too. Her hopes and dreams fall apart and then she’s surrounded by happy people. We don’t get happy during those times. Haha. Also the treatment of she’s a fragile being during that time, while its understandable, it just cuts even deeper. Put all of this together and its a recipe for a deep dark pit. One she doesn’t know she will only crawl out of with the help of Holden. 

This is going to be all that I can say at this time. Side note, we are going to make a name for when I cut you all off. It needs to be funny. So pin this thought for later, we need to come back to it. Any who, this book is only 188 pages. You can read this one in such a short amount of time. I recommend doing so and getting the entire story instead. 

Author Cleo White is the absolutely queen when it comes to smaller books and bigger age gaps. Each book I read I continue to think “we can’t get better than this.” Then I go and read another one of her books and am proven wrong. I fall each time for the men she writes. This is sadly the last book in the Daddy Series and I am not sure I am ready for this journey to be over. I know, I know, dramatics and I can come back at any point. I will too but I just love the first read of a book and with Cleo White’s books, I just have this comfort that I never want to stop. It always feels like I am sitting down with a friend and catching up. Let me have that blanket, cozy chair, the book and time to myself. So to be finished with this series, I am going to be sad to leave the Daddy world!
