The warm blanket that was wrapped around me during this entire read can stay as long as it wants. To which, with some of the topics covered in this book, that may sound strange but I swear this was amazing. I don’t want the warm cozy feeling of this book to go away any time soon. I will be honest, I haven’t seen or read The Great Gatsby and honestly I am so thankful because that made this book comparison free. I tend to be in my head with those books more and I love being able to just sit down and enjoy a retelling but also enjoy it at the same time! This book, I will be rereading it again! 

We start off with Daisy and Gatsby instantly being torn apart. But I am going to talk about everything in order, not how the book has everything laid out. Daisy and Gatsby found each other on the internet when they were both young to escape their misery. Only to find their happiness in each other in the span of a few years. They finally meet on Daisy’s birthday and from this point on they make plans to run away together. Once they turned 18 that was all they needed. As luck would have it, they made it to 18 and met up! Sadly this would only last one night before they were torn apart. 

You see a crime was committed and Gatsby was found guilty for the crime. He plead not guilty but no one would listen to him. That is until the victims brother passed and had all the information left in his will along with transferring all of his wealth to Gatsby. Gatsby took jail time as a was to improve his persona for when he would get out of jail and need to impress the wealthy. He was doing just fine until he finds out that Daisy is engaged. This comes after he told her to not believe anything that would be said about him on the news and to wait for him. 

Once free, Gatsby set into motion his plan on getting Daisy back. But first he needed to set up the lifestyle that she had dreamed of. He planned out their entire mansion and started to have parties, waiting for Daisy to make it back to him. 

Over the entire book, we watch as Gatsby does all he can to have Daisy back and Daisy working to rely on him and not stay scared the entire time. This is sadly where we have to leave off because this book is so in depth with details that I can’t say much without giving details away. But I will say this second chance love does not disappoint. It does have a HEA but the process to get there can, at times, be trying. 

Author Tylor Paige wrote another banger with this one. I continue to be floored with these reads. Going into this retelling with a clear head really gave me the opportunity to just devour the entire writing style through out this book. I loved how I was sucked in from the beginning. I know I hyped this book up for the last few months in my head but it didn’t disappoint. This will be one of those books that I definitely need all forms of the book on hand because of how beautiful the covers are and how much I loved the book.
