Ummm this message is for K.T. Maddan. Let me gather myself for a moment. Ok I’m ready. How you gonna make us think this was only going to be two books of goodness and then tease us at the end that there will be a third book. You mean to tell me you pulled a fast one on us and now we get to hear from Omega Chi Kappa. I feel floored. To which speaks volumes as I was already dead on the floor from this book!
We went from hanging in suspense from Bound by Shadows to jumping into the suspense right away in this book. I will first off say, I did not have any suspicions as to who the unaliver was going to end up being. I was downright surprised and absolutely entertained to see how this ended up tying together. So thank you for the absolute entertainment that came from being truly surprised by how this unraveled. But I am getting ahead of myself. We start off with this book pretty much right where we left off in Bound by Shadows. It may have been a bit of a time difference but it wasn’t too crazy of a gap.
I won’t spill many details on this one but we do end up watching as the MC’s all work to find out who is behind the unaliving. You see the unaliver made a big mistake and took out The Syndicates boss’s child. Did you follow that? Either way, he messed up and The Syndicate were going to find out who did this at any cost. This means our MC’s were busy trying to figure out who was behind this all. Now I say they all have to figure this out but what I am not saying is that they were not all together while trying to figure this all out. We gonna leave this alone and not go into much more detail.
This book is extremely difficult to talk about and give an overview on because if I say anything it pretty much spoils a lot for this book. It’s one of those books where they have things so intertwined that one detail will spoil the rest. You wont see that til the end of the book but I promise it will be worth it at the end of this book.
Author K.T. Maddan has managed to make this duet the most delicious duet I have read in a while. I absolutely loved watching the character dynamic but at the same time I was definitely surprised by the villain. I am all for claiming the villain but in this case, I am ok with letting him go. Nope, he doesn’t need to stick around. I loved the entire writing style that K.T. Maddan gives for this series. I love her Crave book but this one feels like we are getting so many deep and dark emotions. Its like we can sit there and feel all that she is feeling while writing. Crave gives off a writing freedom vibe.
Shattered By Light was an absolute beautiful ride. I looked forward to all of my time being able to sit down and pick up where I left off. This is one of those books where I would love to read this for the first time again. Please let me forget this book and enjoy it again like it was the first time. Beautiful work K.T. Maddan.
