When the book starts with “My Wife” energy….. We all know this is going to be perfection. Case closed. I will die on this hill. So when we saw in the epilogue of the last book in this series that Grayson yells “My Wife”…. You already know we were going to be in for a sweet treat. I am still reeling about this book and will be for a while.

Ok I am going to get a bit too personal but I need you to just deal with it. You see, I was reading this book just about 2 days before my time of the month and this book had me in those feels. I was very emotional reading this. This book was the classic, right person, wrong time. Yet they were part of each others lives since they were babies. They grew up together and yes, in the beginning it was a difficult relationship. They were actually enemies but when Devyn’s father passed away and she had a particularly hard day, Grayson took this time to try and strike up a friendship.

Their friendship turned into being best friends and around each other all of the time until Devyns mother got remarried. This is when they started to be pulled apart. But every summer, Devyn would spend the entire time with Grayson. Slowly their feelings morphed into love yet neither of them understood. They fought the feeling every turn they took until finally they got to their collage years and sadly they truly kinda pulled apart.

One night is all it took for them to run into each other, drink a little and end up tying the knot. Who wouldn’t want Cher to officiate their wedding?!?! This is where I stop though on telling the details. As I started to tear up at this point of their timeline. You’ll see what I mean when they explain what happened. You just literally feel crushed and like why is this happening.

Author K.C. Brooks once again wrote an amazing book that had me going through a roller coaster of emotions. I literally felt my heart break when I read all of the things these MC’s over came to be together. This book had me feeling everything and so invested into their love story. I am not gonna lie, I had to remind myself that I was reading a book. It felt like I was hearing someones life story and I as invested in where their life took them.

I absolutely love taking the time to read anything from K.C. Brooks as I always seem to have the same reaction. It always is a moment of excitement to read and I some how just speed read with out my knowledge. Then I “wake up” so to speak and realize I am already over half way done with the book and so mad that its speeding by. Then I get to the end of the book and just have to sit with it for a day before I can attempt to read a different book. It’s like I need to marinated in these feelings and just be with them before I am ready to let them go.

Always, always going to keep my eye on what K.C. Brooks is writing!
