Demonic Division

Rating: 5

Spicy: 4.5

You ever see those reels where some is sliding on ice for a solid 2 minutes until they eventually fall on their face? That is some how the feeling I get every time I read a Mindy Paige book. It takes me a hot minute to get into the book because usually the setting is unique and I wasn’t prepared for it! Then I start sliding and getting into the book. Only to be met with the inevitable, falling on my face when the book ends. Yet I get back up and say “ok next book and next slide.” I absolutely love the writing style behind Mindy Paige.

This book was a complete mind game. In the end I just felt so darn confused on who to trust and which side to be on. This is a why I absolutely loved this book and wont be speaking too much on this. You see Dagny is a human that gets pulled in the demon world and she is forced to stay. She forms bonds with different guys and tries to escape back to the human world. Other than that, I can’t say anything without giving away details that are all entwined through out the story. The smallest detail ends up being a huge catalyst for the plot. Things I didn’t think about end up being part of the ending.

To which let me also add, this is left on a cliffhanger. Now I will say the second book will be out soon but we do have to leave off in this manor of “what in the world did I just read?” So now we have to sit here and twiddle our thumbs until the next one comes out and we can get some answers. I am not sure if I like this thought or not. Haha. I know dramatic but if you just smashed this book in a day and were left in this limbo feeling, then you would understand. I promise, this is worth it because I can already tell this next book will be amazing but currently this is a “what do I do now” moment.

Author Mindy Paige has yet again written a book that really catches your attention but also leaves you with the curiosity of where this will take us. I felt like I enjoyed every minute of this journey but that is truly because of the writing style that Mindy brings to the table. She has this way of taking her time to get your attention but once she has it, she wont let go. Even long after the book is finished, you will be thinking about it. Shoot I am still thinking about her last book and that was released last year in the fall.

If you like fantasy meets dark, then this is definitely a book for you. I don’t feel like this was horribly dark to the point of being scared, even though the name says Demonic. I have personally read some darker books but this definitely is a dark romance book mixed with fantasy. So if you like men who fly, are obsessive, love deeply and say “mine” then this is your book. There is a second book coming out soon, so keep your eye out for this one as well!!
