I didn’t know it was possible but apparently you can cliffhanger your readers on the first chapter. I am downright impressed. It may have made me a little mad (in the crazy sense) but I caught myself sticking with the book to catch what was going on. Like, excuse me, I know the FMC can’t die right at the start of the book but how close to death was she? Such a tease!!!

It made complete sense though on how the author wrote this book. She literally pulled us in and then gave us a small amount of “how did we get here?” So it was refreshing to know how the characters became the people they became. Now when you get to the end of the book, you kinda have a “how in the world did the FMC end up in this?” All I will say is the FMC tried really hard to get out of one lifestyle and ended up getting stuck in a different one. Essentially she traded one evil for another. So your heart breaks for the woman. Like watch this person do so much to better themselves to only manage to get stuck in something worse. Straight up broke my heart.

What I did love though, was how the MMC decided that he was going to teach the FMC how to speak and keep eye contact. He was going to make sure she had her power back. She will stand with her head held high when she was talking to others. No more of the meek little female. Now she will stand strong on her own two feet. It warms my heart to see how the MMC can manage this type of “dominance” that isn’t actually about taking power over someone else. It’s about showing the other person just how much power they own!!!

This is one of those books that I can’t speak much on it as the plot because I just don’t want to give away the details. But the plot twist at the end of the book has me curious how the next book of this series will end up. We completely change directions of where we were going but it was absolutely needed to save the FMC. But how will everything go on from here? That is the question I look forward to with the next book in this series.

Author J.L. Quick definitely did not lower her standards from Primal. I hate to say it but I think Master was better than Primal. To which, Finn was just downright precious and I loved him. But Liam…… Sir, (ooooo, look at me using the FMC’s term) can you love your lady anymore? I don’t think so. How is it that one family can make so many obsessive men? I don’t know but its beautiful. Yet he is obsessive to show her her self worth. That is a trope that I can’t get over. I love seeing it over and over again. If you liked Primal by J.L. Quick, then you will surely love Master!!!
