We last left off with Lindsey Nicole where she left us on a cliffhanger. One that definitely had me hooked to come back and find out just how everything was handled. I’m so freaking glad I did. Y’all need to read Bang and Burn first otherwise this book won’t make complete sense. Plus let’s be real, these were some good books that you truly can add just one more book to your list! I promise it’ll be worth it! 

Ok so we pick up a little bit further in time from where we left off in the first book. Nothing crazy has happened except the MC’s got to safety and have been able to adapt to life in their new homes. They have picked jobs that spark light into their lives and they have come to the knowledge that they will need to keep an eye over their shoulders. They haven’t given up on finding evidence to clear their names but they know its a lot more difficult with how book one ended. So how does one gain such evidence when the resources they once had are no longer available. 

Welcome to the dark night. That’s what I am going to call this character. I know I am being all mysterious about this retelling but this is a short book and y’all need to read it. Dark night has been living the life that the MC’s are currently living, for the past 3 years. Dark night was blackmailed and knew the only way to keep the ones they loved would be to fake their death. Yet that meant giving up those loved ones and only being able to watch from the shadows of the dark. Imagine having to watch the love of your life continuing on without you and not being able to do a thing about it. That one got me. Dark night finds the MC’s and gives key details to ensure they trust dark night. This trio band together and come up with a plan to get back all of their lives. 

With a little undercover work, resurrection of a ghost and pure grit, this trio start to unravel all the evils that are part of their job. Pulling in one last key player, they manage to all have HEA’s for their lives. To which, Dark Night downright deserved this. 

Author Lindsey Nicole definitely left us on a good cliffhanger last book and I loved seeing how she spun that for this book. I was so excited to see what the MC’s were going to do to get their lives back on track. What I was really excited to see though was the understanding from someone else thats already been in those shoes. I love how 3 people came together to save each other. Now Dark night did not come out of the dark. Dark night stayed but pulled their love with them. It was the only way for them to survive but I will say, it sounds like we may be getting a book for them soon! I really hope we do! I gotta see how this love happened and where it leads to!!!! This book was such a quick read but I absolutely loved my time reading it. I actually took my time with it because I wasn’t read to let it go. Yet there is only so much you can do to spread 100 some odd pages over a few days. Haha! I highly recommend y’all take the time and read this one!!!
