One hand read. That is all. That’s all you need to know. Haha. I’m kidding. There is so much more to this book that you need to hear!
First, Im obsessed! How are we going to just sit back and watch this love story happen without becoming obsessed by it? Gunner is such a secret softie!! That man fell for her instantly and there was no avoiding it at all. Trin also fell for him too. I mean how could you not when the guy actually took the time to understand her and bring her back into the moment. She found someone that actually felt like they cared and that she wasn’t a burden. That is a huge accomplishment to anyone with illness, mental or physical.
I do want to point out that I do not understand what OCD feels like. Yes those random thoughts randomly pop in my head but that is nothing compared to OCD. So I think how Author Tierney Eddy depicted this, was actually eye opening. I feel like OCD really does get that stigmatism that is either obsessive hand washing or cleaning. Like if something is slightly out of place then the person has to put it back in its proper space. I’m thinking like the show “Monk.” That is the standard stigma for OCD but in this book, it really was shown in a different light. One that actually makes me curious and want to research more!!!
Trin and Gunner both have some personal life struggles and for one night they decide to just have a moment for themselves. Why not enjoy a little time with a new friend instead of spending the night doing the same thing. Trin wanted a moment to escape her brain and Gunner just thought “why not hang out with someone else?” But will one night be enough? Shoot, I don’t think it should be!! We are looking at Trin who is doing everything to fight and better her health, finally taking a moment to enjoy life. Then we also have Gunner who works to provide for his siblings and helps his mom with them as well. Both just need a moment to be free and enjoy themselves away from the stresses of every day life. That’s all anyone needs. But how are they only going to do this for one night? The connection is too strong.
Tierney Eddy really did a fine job on this book to bring awareness to OCD but also showing life struggles in general. To show that two people with struggles can come together and just find happiness, that warmed the heart. This read has me hoping that we will see more of Trin and Gunner. I mean, this was only the beginning! So hopefully we get to see where their relationship takes them!
