Bang and Burn

At a little over 100 pages, this book is somehow packed with the drama. Don’t let the size fool you one minute. You will be clinging to your seat while reading this one. I was struggling to put it down last night. I got to the mid way point and just wanted to keep reading. But sleep won out because of what all needed done today. If I didn’t need to adult, this would be one that I would have just pulled an all nighter on. Well with how fast I was reading it, maybe just a late nighter. Either way, this is worth lack of sleep.

I fell in love with this book because it was all about the story and plot. We followed two FBI agents that were taking over a case as their fellow agents went MIA. Elara was used to working alone so she wasn’t too excited to start working with Ryder but oh well ma’am, suck it up buttercup! That she did… in more ways than one. Getting ahead of myself. They fly to London to pick up where the previous team left off and started to find out information that didn’t necessarily make sense. Finding new evidence, they started to realize that there was a bigger game going on that they realized.

WIth Ryders hacking skills and smarts, he get a new computer and starts the investigation on his own devices. Slowly El and Ryder figure out that they needed to go to a ball to get a little more information. Doing so though, may have been what gave their motives away and how the villain was able to start seeing what they were figuring out. Now I’ve said in the past, we love a good villain. We don’t love this villain. No sir, no we don’t. This villain is just trying to kill people because he is doing wrong and wants it to fall on other people. I won’t say any more than that because I don’t want to give away any of the plot.

Ryder and El’s relationship starts to blossom after that ball. They end up going back to their hotel room and have a delicious time together. Their relationship is a slow burn but it definitely is one that will get better as we go. I wouldn’t mind it being a tad spicier but still it was delicious and practical.

Author Lindsey Nicole wrote such a wonderfully descriptive book that had an amazing amount of plot. This book will keep your attention the entire time. I will say, it sadly ends on a cliffhanger and now we must wait for the next book to come out. I’m not sure I am ready for that wait!!! But If this book is anything to go by, I think we will be enjoying that book just as well!
